I'm in Cincinnati and we have very few oldies shows in our area. Some of us go to shows within 5 to 6 hours of Cinti, Pittsburgh has been our main lifeline (PORCC) oldies organization has about 10 shows a year.PORCC Pittsburgh old record collectors club did monthly shows since 1991 ,they do a few less now per year .The PORCC club prompted some friends in CINTI.to start our own organization and to have shows of our own in our city. We became an official non-profit organization February 9,2002.Our club is dedicated to (PROMOTE PRESERVE PERFORM and PLAY The Music Our Youth). Of course this is Doo-Wop, Rock'n'Roll, Rhythm and Blues and Group Harmony. We have had the Skyliners, Reflections, Phil Dirt and the Dozers perform at our shows. We also had Otis Williams and the Charms from Cinti. If any of your travels bring you to our area I would like to attend a performance. I'm president of CODA (CINCINNATI OLDIES DOOWOP ASSOCIATION)formed2/9/2002.CODA was created to PROMOTE PERFORM PRESERVE and PLAY THE MUSIC of OUR YOUTH.This of course is DOO WOP, ROCK "N" ROLL, RHYTHM and BLUES and GROUP HARMONY. Great website with excellent vocals by your group. We don't have live shows in our area so we are booking some of our own for our 200+ members. We had The Skyliners, The Reflections and Otis Williams and the Charms. Our next group on April 8,2006 will be Johnny Angel and the Halos from Pittsburgh PA. If your travels bring your group to our area (within 4-5 hour drive I would love to see you perform. I plan to send for your CD soon . Date: 30 November 2005 Hi guys: I was thrilled seeing you perform on Vito's TV show last night. He's had many groups over the years, but you guys were so fantastic. Please! Please send me a copy of your CD. I want to play it on my show. I want everybody to know about your group. I do a weekly oldies show on Friday nights from 7 pm till 1 am (eastern). The show is "The Pop Shoppe". I play all the oldies plus more that you don't hear on radio anymore. Check the website. (http://www.topshelfoldies.com) and click on my name and you'll see where even Vito was a guest on my show. The music runs 24/7 with different dee jays each night. Especially after I had contacted him last year (after many years) after Classic Sounds appeared on Johnny Z's radio show. I know he was in the process of moving and wanted to send him a copy of your hour on the show as I taped it that night. I know it is a privacy issue but I wanted to know where he was buried so I can pay my respects and maybe I could forward a card through you guys to give to his wife as well. So you know, he performed at my wedding back in 1987 in Eastchester at Alex and Henrys and you should hear a copy of a tape I have of him performing off of a video camera that rolled throughout the night, especially "I Believe" by Larry Chance which was the closing song. Lots of great memories. I was very lucky that my Wife's Uncle knew of Bill from the Morris Park section of the Bronx. I know you guys are busy and best of luck in the future. PS. I love the music in the background and it has alot of info on the group. My cousin sent it to me, which by the way is Robert or Bob as y'all might call him. I grew up listening to him rehearsing and all. I always said to myself that when I got married I wanted him to sing at my wedding. Well, that came true and also had his wife Susan to sing too. It meant alot to me that my dream came true. On a sad note, he also sang at my fathers funeral. He was one of my dad's favorite nephews and used to also sing and play around on the guitar with him as I was growing up. I will always have that close to my heart. My dad was watching down that day and would've been proud to have him there. Robert has always had a special place in my heart and is my angel in forever.
