Al Fennell

Al has over 30 years of musical experience.  He is a professor of music and teaches music in upper Westchester County.  He was the director for the world famous Westchester Chordsmen Barbershop Chorus for 10 years; and has performed nationally and internationally for captive audiences.  His music has been heard in the mountains of Italy and on the Great Wall of China.  Al anchors the Classic Sounds with his rich bass.

Gabe Dassa

Gabe is an Orthopaedic Surgeon.  He has grown up around Doo-Wop singers since he was in diapers.  His father was a childhood friend of Robert Carr of Robert and Johnny, and he developed his ear listening to the pioneers of  Doo-Wop music who sang  in his home while he was growing up.   In between operations, Gabe has performed in community theater productions as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, and in Godspell.  He is also a member of  Westchester Chordsmen.   With Classic Sounds he sings lead and first tenor, second tenor and falsetto.

Steve Aversano

Steve is the youngest of the group.  His Doo-Wop career began in the Fall of 2000 when he became a member of the Destinaires.   Steve has an excellent voice and ear; and he has a natural ear for the oldies.  He has been performing since the age of  11 in community theater and various productions.  His resume includes performances in Guys and Dolls, Jekyll and Hyde, Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, Annie Get Your Gun, Phantom, and his most recent portrayal of John the Baptist in Godspell.  With Classic Sounds, Steve sings lead, first tenor, second tenor and falsetto.

Lou Valentino

Lou has been entertaining people since he played at the NY Worlds Fair in 1964 at the age of 11.  Besides playing the state night club circuit for the past 35 years, he was a member of “Nino and the EbbTides” from 1990 to their split in 2002.  His present band “Class Act” is currently working the Bronx and Westchester night club circuit.  He has been the leader of “Valentino Entertainment” throughout his career performing at weddings and functions of all types.   Lou sings lead and second tenor with the Classic Sounds..
